What causes indoor air pollution?
Many daily items may cause inferior indoor air quality in your Gainesville home.
This includes:
- Compounds in [flooring, furniture and window treatments that emit fumes
- Cleaning supplies
- Paint
- Personal care products
- Air fresheners and candles
Though they are often more efficient, newer homes don’t have fresh air the way older residences do. Snug weather stripping and storm doors keep inside air in and exterior air out. This provides increased energy savings, but the decreased exchange of outdoor and indoor air can trigger pollutants increasing indoors.
When this occurs, a whole-house ventilation system is recommended. Ventilation systems swap out dirty inside air for more breathable outside air without giving up energy savings.
