What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning is here with a few of the most typical cooling problems in Gainesville.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your air conditioning system running but there isn’t cool air blowing, you might need to have your refrigerant levels analyzed. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air blowing from your system is actually cool. Call Service Experts and we’ll come out and examine your refrigerant levels and look into why your AC system is not giving off cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

One reason your condenser fan might not be rotating could be that it merely burned out and you have to replace it. Humidity tends to cause more condensation so a second matter to watch for is that the water is not draining correctly or that the drain is obstructed. If you can check these things, you may be able to discover the problem; if not, give Service Experts a call and we can look into what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and discuss your options to get your system cooling again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try lowering your thermostat. It sounds ridiculous but sometimes we forget the obvious. If that doesn’t get your system cooling, take a look at the air filter. If the air filter is obstructed, it could cause huge cooling problems. Another problem that could cause your insufficient cooling is that your air conditioner is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a typical issue when homes are constructed. Service Experts will come out and conduct an analysis to determine if the size of your equipment is causing your issues.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your air conditioner is short cycling, or turning on or off constantly, it could mean one of many things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and needs cleaning. Once the unit is cleaned and all obstructions removed, you may be back in business. Keep in mind that humidity also plays a part so if your home cools to the correct temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to warm up again, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because the equipment is having to work harder to keep your home comfortable.

No matter your problem, whatever air conditioner trouble you run into, Service Experts is here for you all day, every day so we can get your home comfortable quickly.
