What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning is here with some of the most typical cooling problems in Gainesville.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your air conditioning system running but there isn’t cool air blowing, you might need to have your refrigerant levels analyzed. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air blowing from your system is actually cool. Call Service Experts and we’ll come out and review your refrigerant levels and look into why your AC system is not giving off cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

A reason your condenser fan may not be rotating could be that it merely burned out and you have to replace it. Humidity can cause more condensation so a second matter to watch for is that the water is not draining properly or that the drain is obstructed. If you can check these issues, you may be able to discover the problem; if not, give Service Experts a call and we can look into what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and discuss your options to get your system cooling again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try lowering your thermostat. It sounds ridiculous but sometimes we forget the obvious. If that doesn’t get your system cooling, check the air filter. If the air filter is obstructed, it could cause huge cooling problems. Another issue that could cause your lack of cooling is that your HVAC system is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a typical issue when homes are constructed. Service Experts will come out and conduct an analysis to determine if the size of your equipment is causing your issues.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your air conditioner is short cycling, or turning on or off repeatedly, it could mean one of several things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and needs cleaning. Once the unit is cleaned and all blockages removed, you may be back in business. Keep in mind that humidity also plays a role so if your home cools to the desired temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to warm up again, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because the equipment is having to work harder to keep your home cool.

No matter your problem, whatever air conditioner trouble you run into, Service Experts is here for you 24/7/365 so we can get your home comfortable quickly.
